After earning her undergraduate degree in gender studies, Natasha McClammy felt called to nursing. So, she earned her associate degree in nursing and has been a practicing nurse ever since. Looking to take the next step in her education and career, she began looking at different RN to BSN programs around the country. That\u2019s when she found NCCU\u2019s RN to BSN program, a Flight Path program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have a lot of goals for myself that require higher learning,\u201d Natasha said. \u201cI feel that education is the key to success and the key to trust within my patients. It\u2019s very important for me that the people I work with know they\u2019re in capable hands.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Natasha is one of hundreds of adult learners who chose to continue their education by enrolling in Flight Path programs across the University of North Carolina System. Developed by Project Kitty Hawk, a nonprofit affiliated with the UNC System, in collaboration with the institutions offering them, these programs ensure that working adults can successfully balance their education with life, family, and career commitments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n While earning her degree from NCCU, Natasha was working two jobs \u2013 her full-time job as a critical care nurse as well as a part-time job at a skilled nursing facility \u2013 and has enjoyed learning about the experience her fellow students bring to the classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019ve had some group projects at the students are from everywhere,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s nice connecting with them and seeing everybody\u2019s way of life because everyone within my cohort is so different. Not everybody is straight out of nursing school, and not everybody works in a hospital. I get a lot of experience through reading what they do.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Immediately after graduating from NCCU with her RN to BSN degree, Natasha is taking the next step in her academic career.
