Project Kitty Hawk (PKH) is strongly committed to maintaining the privacy and security of confidential personal information and other highly sensitive data that it collects. Our privacy and public records obligations are governed by applicable State and Federal laws. This privacy policy applies to all activities conducted by PKH and includes all Personal Information that is gathered by any means, including hardcopy and electronic. 
 
The purpose of this policy is to protect the privacy of individuals who have sensitive information stored (either in electronic or paper form) on assets owned by PKH, while at the same time providing the ability to share this information with authorized entities as required by legitimate academic or business need or by law. 

What Information we collect on this site 

We collect the following information through the contact form: 

  • Name 
  • Email Address 
  • Message Content 

In addition to the contact form, PKH collects the following information: 

  • PKH only collects cookies necessary for the basic functionality of the website. 

Project Kitty Hawk does not sell any of the information collected. 

How we use Information 

We use information we collect on our sites in one or more of the following ways: 

  • To administer our Sites, including Site protection and improvement, prospective/current student support, communication, and market analysis. 
  • For marketing, including communicating with you about PKH programs or other services that we think may be of interest to you. 
  • For recruiting candidates for employment. 
  • Processing graduate and undergraduate applications, financial aid, and other student services provided by PKH 
  • Where PKH has a legitimate interest as described in the section above 
  • When required by law to do so, or to comply with and enforce legal requirements, agreements, and policies. 
  • For other purposes disclosed to you at the time you provide Personal Information via a form on the site. 

Cookies 

Cookies are files that many websites transfer to users’ web browsers to enable the site to deliver personalized services or to provide persistent authentication. The information contained in a cookie typically includes information collected automatically by the web server and/or information provided voluntarily by the user. The PKH website uses persistent cookies in conjunction with a third-party technology partner to analyze search engine usage and web traffic patterns. This information is used in the aggregate to monitor and enhance PKH web pages. It is not used to track the usage patterns of individual users.  

Subject Deletion Request Process 

To initiate a data deletion, please follow these steps: 

  1. Submit a data deletion request via email (Subject: Deletion Request) to [email protected] and include: 
  1. The subject’s full name (First and Last); and 
  1. The subject’s email address 
  1. Once the email is received at PKH, the Data Governance Team will ensure that the information is removed from all production environments within 30 days and all non-production environments within 90 days.  

Once the information deletion has been complete, the individual will receive email confirmation from the PKH Data Governance Team.
